Steve Voss is the Founder & CEO of CPX Partners, where he helps financial advisors move, scale, and exit with clarity and confidence. A CPA and Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA), Steve spent over a decade at Raymond James Financial, guiding hundreds of advisors through transitions, platform evaluations, business launch, equity and compensation consulting, succession planning for next gen advisors, long-term economic modeling, and high-retention client moves.
At CPX Partners, Steve brings that expertise to a full-service advisory firm, offering recruiting support, transition execution, business coaching, fractional CFO services, valuation insight, and succession planning. He leads with a data-first approach, ensuring advisors make smart, grounded decisions at every stage of their business lifecycle.
A cancer survivor, Steve’s personal journey has given him a renewed sense of purpose and clarity by deepening his empathy, sharpening his focus on what truly matters, and reinforcing his commitment to helping others build meaningful, sustainable success. That experience continues to shape both his leadership and the values of the business.
Outside the office, Steve is a proud dad to Ella, Lia, and Carson, and husband to his wife, Michelle. When he’s not working, you’ll likely find him on a golf course, fishing offshore or cheering on his favorite Tampa Bay teams, but most often with his family.
Steve Voss, a former Raymond James executive, has launched his own consulting practice to help advisors go independent and beyond.
Voss, who spent nearly 10 years at Raymond James, most recently as vice president of business consulting, is "leaning into" steps he took to build out Raymond James' business consulting department, namely "helping people get comfortable taking the W-2 cap off and putting on the business-owner cap," he told FA-IQ in an interview.
